Welcome to my blog, KiKi’s Corner!
I enjoy working out, so I like to look good doing it. Even if you don’t like working out but you go to the gym anyway – still look good doing it! I can tell you from personal experience how important looking and feeling good is, because I used to wear the most unflattering gym clothes. I’m talking an extra-large t-shirt and cropped pants, which was NOT cute on me at all – I’m the wife of a personal trainer for goodness sake! I should know better but nooooo. Boy, I needed a gym fashion makeover to go with my health transformation!
So, I did just that. I did a 180 and brought all new workout clothes. Now I LOVE active wear – tank tops, strappy, low back and muscle tees are just some of the styles to choose from. The best part is, there is something for everyone, from those who want to “show and reveal” to those who want to “hide and conceal.” Me? I’m “show and reveal” kinda girl. AND, many of the tops I buy can be worn outside the gym – a low-back top can be paired with jeans and a cute heel and you can step out for a night on the town looking hella sexy!
Now on to my favorite piece of active wear: bottoms. Leggings, crops and shorts, oh my! So many colors and patterns to choose from, plus sheer paneling and netting, which I just love. Showing a little skin never hurt anybody! Leggings give many styling options, since these type of pants can be paired with blouses or any type shoe, it’s all about your preference. When it gets warmer, shorts are a great option. Now, I know some may feel a little self conscious wearing shorts. But you shouldn’t! They’re your legs and I can assure you that you’re paying more attention to your imperfections than anyone else is. I have spider veins, but I’ll rock some cute running shorts in hot minute.
Active wear doesn’t have to be expensive. I’m a bargain shopper, so those brand-name stores (you know the ones – $100 for leggings, get outta here!) won’t get my money unless it’s on super clearance or from a thrift store. For me, I head to TJ Maxx, Target, Old Navy and Forever21 for really stylish active wear at a great price.
Remember: active wear should be fun and express your individual style. Look good, feel good!
